Pattern Tester

So, I was looking around at some other crochet websites and companies on facebook, and I ran into Thistles and Tulips Crochet. They were looking for someone to test out a pattern they had written and I volunteered and was chosen. The pattern was made for an infant, and I only had a 3 month old handy...(Thanks L.) So the hat didn't quite fit her in it's original pattern, but still cute! I especially love the colors. The skein is called "cotton candy" but it looks more like a pink lemonade to me ;)

I promised L. that she could keep the hat for her baby if she's let me use her as the model, so I had to make a few changes in order for it to work for this particular baby.

Here is the finished hat:

Of course I had to add a flower... it's what I do!
To order a hat like this one in your choice of colors and size, send your request to:
iloveapiano@gmail.com

Thanks again to Thistles and Tulips Crochet for letting me test out her original pattern! I'm hoping to get a picture of the original hat on a newborn sometime!

Baby Cowboy Booties and other fun stuff :)

There will definitely be more of these cute  cowboy booties coming. I just wanted to show you what they look like. I'll be making a black and white pair and a pink pair in the near future, so check back for those!

Obviously they'll be sold in pairs... but I had only finished one, so here it is. :)
I found the pattern online from an old Annie's Attic (1980)

I'm going to be selling these but I haven't decided on a price yet.
How much would you pay for a pair??
Leave your answer in the comment section below.

Here are a couple of hats I made for my contest winners from this blog last month and also the contest from Military Duty Stations' blog.

These are some of my favorite scarves ever: Curly Q scarves! They are starting to trend, as I've seen them everywhere. I saw one in the Quilted Bear and had to try my hand at one. I don't have a pattern for these, but it is really a simple concept. To order a curly Q scarf, send your request to: iloveapiano@gmail.com

I also had a little fun and made an ipod/phone cozy. (mine isn't an iphone, but it's a similar shape)

Kinda fun :)
I'll make custom phone cozies by request only.
I'm thinking I want to put a strap on this one so I can put it around my shoulder.

I made a few videos today about some crochet basics. I will look them over and post them soon. I'm also working on getting a free pattern to post (one of my originals). Still trying to decide.

Have a good one!

Beautiful Sunset

I haven't posted many photos lately, but here are some cool shots I got of the sunset the other day.

Patterns?

I've been thinking about creating patterns for some of the things that I do, so that those of you who crochet can have some fun with them. Any crochet-ers out there care about this idea? I don't want to spend the time creating a pattern if no one cares to use it.

Leave a comment with something you'd like to learn to crochet. (preferably an easier project since I'm new to the whole creating-a-pattern thing.)

I'd love your feedback.

The Latest for January

Adult size Tigger hat. This was a custom order.

The Bearded Hat. This was me proving that it isn't that hard to make a hat with a beard attached.
I want to attach the beard to a thicker hat though. I think this green one is going to become Oscar the Grouch.
This hat will keep you very warm! I was quite toasty while wearing it.

You choose the colors when you order custom. Send your requests to: iloveapiano@gmail.com

(too bad I didn't have a boy model it....as I look awful in this hat and I couldn't find any sunglasses.)

More to come. I've been a slacker lately, but trust me there will be much more! I can't get enough crochet.
I think one of my favorite things about crochet, is the ability to create just about anything! Go to etsy.com and click on the crochet link. I am always amazed at the fun things that can be done with crochet. When I have a break from custom orders I like to make things just for the fun of it.

Hope you are all having a good day  :)

Headbands!

Okay these have got to be my new favorite obsession: big headbands with flowers attached! They are so cute!

These are all hand crocheted in a smoke free and pet free home.
Each flower is detachable and interchangeable. They have a clip on the back so you can wear them on anything, or just in your hair by themselves!
They are made in a variety of colors and textures.
The best part is, you tell me how you'd like it made and your wish is my command! This is great if you want something that is truly one of a kind.
Headbands include one flower.
To order, email me with detailed specifications: iloveapiano@gmail.com

What's New?

More Hats and Scarves!
Hat and scarf sets start at $25
Shoot me an email if you're interested! I take custom requests!

Dishcloths

Crochet dishcloths are great for scrubbing because of the ridges in the stitching.
They are also really beautiful and colorful!
They measure 8" squared
100% cotton
Hand crocheted in a smoke free and pet free home
I take color and texture requests.
These make great gifts for bridal showers and weddings.
